What is involved in Phoenix Invisalign treatment?

The Invisalign clear aligner system aligns teeth and helps to improve oral health by using a series of clear, removable aligners. If you follow Dr. Dunn’s instructions, you can get the same great results with Invisalign as you would with traditional braces. Invisalign are designed to treat most common orthodontic problems

We will use x-rays and digital impressions at your initial consultation to create a precise 3D image of the teeth at your initial consultation. From this, we build a customized aligner that is specific to each patient’s smile. The trays are constructed of a smooth, comfortable material that fits firmly over the teeth. These trays are designed to be switched out every 1-2 weeks to keep up with the teeth as they move into their desired new positions.

What are the benefits of choosing Phoenix Invisalign treatment?

Besides being nearly invisible, one of the biggest benefits of Invisalign is the fact that you can remove them. Invisalign aligners are designed to be removed before eating or drinking anything other than water. This means you’ll never have to worry about food getting stuck in brackets or wires. They’re also meant to be removed before brushing and flossing. This makes it’s much easier to access your teeth and maintain a good oral hygiene routine, which is especially important for orthodontic patients.

Since you can remove you clear aligners, you can avoid any food restriction. Food restrictions are often the biggest learning curve with traditional braces, so this is a big deal. With Invisalign, you don’t have to forego any of your favorite foods while you’re working on a straighter smile! Aligners need to be removed before all meals in order to avoid staining. They should be cleaned and rinsed out with warm water at least once or twice a day.

With Invisalign aligners, there are no pesky wires to poke out and irritate the mouth, and there aren’t any adjustment appointments, either. If you are wearing Invisalign aligners, you will still need to attend follow-up visits about every 6-8 weeks so that Dr. Courtney Dunn or Dr. Matthew Dunn can be sure everything is staying on schedule.

How does the Phoenix Invisalign system work?

The Invisalign system is straightforward. You wear each aligner for about two weeks, remove them to eat, drink, brush, or floss. As the aligners are replaced with the next one in the series, your teeth will be moving gradually, until they reach their final desired positions.

During visits with Dunn Orthodontics, we will check to make sure teeth are staying on track and moving according to our plan. You must change the aligners on and wear them as directed. This is the most important element to success with your Phoenix Invisalign. Your trays will be custom designed to fit your unique dental needs. They will need to be changed frequently in order to keep up with the shifting of the teeth as they begin to straighten. Not changing aligners as scheduled or skipping your appointments can quickly undo any work that has been done.

It’s important to remember that every patient will respond to orthodontic treatment differently. Invisalign works in a slightly different and less invasive way than braces to straighten the teeth. This means it can be hard to say with certainty how long a patient will need to wear them before seeing results. The average length of treatment time is between 6 and 18 months. The time frame will be different for everyone, however. Treatment time depends significantly on how well a patient follows instructions.

The average treatment time is estimated based on patients following provided guidelines. This means wearing aligners for at least 20-22 hours every single day, throughout the course of treatment. Any small deviation from this can add extra time to the overall process. Invisalign can only work if patients stick to the plan
