Phoenix Braces

When it comes to straightening smiles and correcting misalignment between the teeth and jaws, traditional braces in Phoenix AZ are one of the most efficient and time-proven orthodontic tools we have. They are normally made up of metal or ceramic brackets that attach to the teeth, then connect by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. Through regular adjustment appointments with our doctors, the brackets, wires, and bands will work together to apply gentle, continuous pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the optimal positions.

Braces have a long history of successfully correcting a number of orthodontic issues, from simple to complex. Because they can sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Traditional braces also tend to require less of the complicated technology and expensive equipment that newer treatments rely on, making them a cost-effective option for straightening smiles.

Phoenix Invisalign

Instead of brackets, wires, and bands, the Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move the teeth into alignment. This treatment option is popular with both patients and orthodontists, and is currently the top alternative to traditional braces. The aligners are made of a clear plastic material that has been designed to fit comfortably over a patient’s teeth, and they are switched out approximately every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. This keeps teeth moving in the direction we want them to go. Patient compliance is crucial to the success of the Invisalign system, and aligners must be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment to be effective. Patients who neglect to wear the aligners as recommended by our doctors can impede the results and also add time to the overall orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some cases that are complex, Invisalign may not be a viable option. A complimentary consultation with Dunn Orthodontics will be able to determine your eligibility for Invisalign.
