Phoenix Orthodontist Herbst Treatment Effects

Treatment Effects:
Maxilla – Over the long-term, Pancherz has demonstrated a 2mm posterior position of the maxilla in Phoenix orthodontist Herbst treated patients compared to controls.
Maxillary Dentition – Maxillary molars are intruded and distalized with the Phoenix orthodontist Herbst.  Pancherz has shown on average 2mm of distalization with the Phoenix orthodontist Herbst.  Over the long term, Pancherz showed 1.2mm of distalization while untreated subjects showed mesial movement of the 1st molars.
Mandible – A short-term increase of 2mm in mandibular length has been shown with Phoenix orthodontist Herbst therapy.  After Phoenix orthodontist Herbst therapy the rate of mandibular growth decreased resulting in a long-term gain of 0-1mm following Phoenix orthodontist Herbst treatment.
Mandibular Dentition – Mandibular molars moved mesially 1-2mm during treatment.  The mandibular incisors flared 5-10° with Phoenix orthodontist Herbst treatment.  In the long-term both of these effects tend to partially rebound.

The overall treatment effect of the Phoenix orthodontist Herbst is a correction of the Class II malocclusion.
