Drs. Matthew and Courtney Dunn are now Board Certified!
It’s official – our doctors are diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. This is the only board for orthodontists recognized by the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.
What does this mean?
Involvement in the board certification process is voluntary and a demonstration of an orthodontist's pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence. The certification process involves a thorough Written Examination covering all areas of information on which an orthodontist should be knowledgeable. Successful passage allows the orthodontist to present treated cases which will be evaluated by expert examiners of the Board during a Clinical Examination. Certification is now awarded for a time-limited period and the orthodontist must re-examine on a periodic basis to retain the board certified status.
Only 38% of Orthodontists today are board certified.
Dr. Matthew Dunn wins National Award
We are so proud of Dr. Dunn for receiving the Thomas Graber Award of Special Merit for his research in bone biology. This honor is given by the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), and recognizes his work for one of the most outstanding projects of the year for the US and Canada. He will be presenting this project at the AAO national meeting this May in Seattle.
Congratulations to our Superbowl Winners
Great job to Ashley L for coming the closest in guessing the combined score of the Superbowl. She won 25 tokens and bragging rights! Kudos to Jon M., Katryna S. and Teddi T. who all placed second. They each received 5 tokens for a great effort.
Don’t Forget to Enter the March/April Contest
Another chance to win 25 tokens is at the front desk! You will have to guess the number of candies in the jar. Ask Marsha for details at your next appointment.
April is National Facial Protection Month
Each year, a large number of children end up in the emergency room because of knocked out teeth, broken jaws or other facial injuries. Usually they are participating in organized or neighborhood sports. These injuries could have been prevented or at least minimized if they had worn a mouth guard. Although mouth guards are now generally considered standard equipment for football and hockey players, they really should be worn during any contact sport.
ASK THE DOCTORS ABOUT THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MOUTH GUARDS.
Congratulations to Our Dental Staff Winners
Every month, staff members from local dental offices have a chance to win great prizes! You can’t win if you don’t play. Here is a list of our winners so far:
January – Cheryl from Drs. Ellsworth and Warren
February – Kim from Perfect Teeth
March – Cindy from Drs. Ryu and Kim (Litchfield)
Our Winter Open House was a Great Success
Our winter fiesta was a great time and a fantastic opportunity to introduce our office to the neighborhood. Over 100 people attended and there was lots of food and fun. Thank you to everyone who attended. We feel so honored to serve this community.
Remember, your greatest compliment is the referral of new patients to our office. We really appreciate your support.
